To my children,
A brother or sister is one of life’s greatest treasures.
Throughout your life as you make friends, and sometimes lose touch with others, you will always have your brothers and sisters.
They are the people who know you the most, and love you the most.
They are there from the day you are born until you are old and gray.
They are at every birthday party, lunch time, bedtime, and vacation.
They are the only people in the entire world who have your exact same family tree. Every single one of your ancestors is theirs as well.
They are the people you learn, play, and discover the world with.
Sometimes they can make you angry, better than anyone else can, because they know you so well. But that is where you learn to resolve conflict.
Even when you are grown, you still bring out the happy, childish parts in each other.
You share bedrooms & books, shoes & snacks, eye color & toys.
I pray you, my children, grow to become the best of friends. It really is one of the most wonderful parts of life.
And to my brother and sisters, thanks for being you :)
